South African hunters and sport shooters are reminded to diarise 27 – 29 April 2018 when the eighth HuntEx exhibition will be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, Gauteng. HuntEx remains a phenomenal success story that annually attracts between 35 000 to 40 000 visitors to view close to 400 exhibitions of the latest products and services on offer by the hunting, shooting and outdoor sector. Industry confidence in HuntEx remains high. The interest in exhibition space for the 2018 expo exceeded all previous shows, with 93% of exhibition space being sold by December 2017.

Biodiversity Economy Indaba: Hunting is key contributor to SA economy

Minister of Environmental Affairs, Dr Edna Molewa, opened the third Biodiversity Economy Indaba in East London on 8 March 2018. A press release from the department acknowledges the importance of the wildlife industry as a key contributor to SA’s economy, but also made mention of a lack of transformation in the hunting industry.
