The Marksman Fair is a shooting competition that will be hosted by IRASLA on 28 May 2016 at General Piet Joubert Military Shooting Range north of Pretoria.
The event will be the first of its kind and IRASLA aims to grow the Marksman Fair to the largest independent shooting competition in South Africa with the biggest cash prizes and sponsored prizes.
The competition will be open to shooters of all skills levels, and will be structured in a way that will allow participants from amateur to professional to become a winner. Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â
The Marksman Fair will also be hosting an outdoor market where exhibitors will display and advertise their products to ensure that the event will be enjoyed by participants as well as outdoor enthusiasts and their families.
Contestants will compete in the categories of men, women and junior.
Each Marksman will shoot 5 shots from the prone position on the prescribed target at a range of 200m with only their gun belt as support.
The fifty highest scores will shoot it out over 100m standing, 200m sitting & 300m prone position to determine the top fifty marksman who will be eligible for prizes.
The top 3 competitors will receive medals as well as free entry to the iRASLA Marksman Fair 2017.
Contestants are to bring aÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â minimumÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â of 50 rounds of ammunition.
PRPrizes over R150k are guaranteed. Winners can look forward to cash prizes, hunting trips, rifles, weekends away, hunting accessories, taxidermist vouchers and other prizes.
Included in the list of hunting trips are packages with 1 x Eland bull, 1 x Kudu bull and 2 x Blouwildebees.
Other activities will include a performance by Arno Jordaan as well as a beer tent and large screen TV's for watching rugby. Lazer tag shooting and other games will be available for children.
